New Internist Lives By Three Wellness Rules
December 28, 2015
ARC’s newest internist, Dr. Rudxandra Aguiar, was born and raised in a beach town in Cuba. Following medical school, she studied and practiced medicine in Guatemala and New York City. She thought she could never live away from the ocean until arriving in Austin, TX.
“I love Austin. Visiting farmers markets is one of my favorite things to do, along with exploring South Austin with my two Chihuahuas and running Lady Bird Lake,” said Dr. Aguiar.
She chose internal medicine because the specialty offers an ability to build relationships with patients.
Explained Dr. Aguiar, “I’ve always been interested in healing both body and soul because I believe they are one entity. I like the challenge of making diagnoses from small clues…like a detective.”
When it comes to wellness, Dr. Aguiar says prevention is key and recommends three healthy living rules: Eat real food, exercise often and do something you enjoy.
Dr. Aguiar is currently accepting new patients at ARC Southwest. Request an appointment online or call us at 512-272-4636.
