New ARC Pediatrician encourages bike helmets

Dr. Alison Chantal Caviness, Pediatrician, has joined the team at ARC Wilson Parke. Dr. Caviness, who comes to Austin by way of Boston, treats children with illness and injury in ARC Wilson Parke Same-Day Care.
Dr. Caviness says that she chose Pediatrics because enjoys working with families to improve the health of their children. She adds, “I appreciate the human connection that is such an important part of pediatrics. It’s an honor to hear people’s stories and to help people in their times of need.”
Dr. Caviness describes her approach toward patient care as efficient and respectful. “I try to provide the best and most efficient care for each patient that I see. In doing so, I like to respect the individual wishes and needs of each patient and their family members.”
In her leisure time, Dr. Caviness enjoys “spending time with my twins, taking photographs, reading, keeping up with the news, and traveling.”
When asked what piece of health advice she gives most often, Dr. Caviness says, “Every person should wear a bike helmet every time they ride a bike.” She shares that her own daughter’s life and well-being were saved by the helmet she was wearing when she took a bad fall from a bike.
