It’s All About Relationships
August 14, 2018
Austin Regional Clinic is happy to announce that Andrew M. Walters, MD, Family Medicine physician, has joined the team at ARC Quarry Lake.
When asked why he chose Family Medicine as a specialty, Dr. Walters says, “Every day I get to go to the office and meet new people from all over the world. I get to hear their stories, meet their families, and help them heal. In some cases I get to see them again and again, building trust and respect along the way. No matter what happens from a medical standpoint, a meaningful relationship is always formed, and to me there is nothing more rewarding.”
Know Your Patient
Describing his philosophy of patient care, Dr. Walters quotes the Canadian physician Sir William Osler, saying, “It is much more important to know what sort of patient has a disease than what sort of disease a patient has.”
Dr. Walters has a plethora of pastimes, including, “running, swimming, surfing, camping, golf, Frisbee, basketball, baseball, football, rooting for Orioles, Redskins, and Terrapins, and hanging out with my wife and dog!”
His best health tip? “Do something active. Every. Day. Even if your body is sore, your mind will feel great.”
Welcome to Austin Regional Clinic, Dr. Walters!
