In this recent podcast, Dr. Lynch tells both parents to “get healthy.” He recommends that prospective parents “maintain a healthy weight and eat healthy.” Dr. Lynch explains the role that weight and nutrition play in the fertility of soon-to-be parents.

He also suggests that couples schedule an appointment with their doctor about three months before they start trying. Dr. Lynch says it’s best to “discuss your health and any risk factors you might have like high blood pressure or high cholesterol.”
