Championship Hearts Teen Heart Screenings

Over the course of the summer, ARC teamed up with Championship Hearts Foundation (CHF) to provide free heart screenings in Texas for teen athletes, marching band, cheer and drill team members, and any student ages 14 to 18.

Screenings were held at ARC Wilson Parke,>ARC Cedar Par, and ARC Southwest, in July, August, and September respectively.

CHF estimates that 1 in 250 students are at risk for heart abnormalities that could potentially lead to life-threatening heart issues. Anyone who participates in strenuous activities is encouraged to get their hearts screened for possible deadly genetic heart conditions.

The screenings, using non-invasive echocardiograms (ECG) and heart pictures (ECHO) are endorsed by the Texas Chapter of the American College of Cardiology, and were provided by volunteer local cardiologists and ARC clinical support staff.
