Taking the Time to Listen

Austin Regional Clinic is pleased to announce that Anne C. Adams, MDFamily Medicine physician, has joined the team at ARC South 1st.

Dr. Adams says, “I chose a career in Family Medicine because I wanted to be able to work with everyone, from newborns to geriatrics and everything in between.” She says that she realized that Family Medicine would be a good fit for her while in medical school. “When I was in medical school I loved every single rotation and Family Medicine seemed like the perfect fit because I could do a little bit of everything while building relationships with my patients/ their families.”

Treat Others How You Want to be Treated

Dr. Adams relies on the Golden Rule to guide her philosophy of care. She says, “My philosophy of care is to treat everyone how you would like to be treated.” In addition, she adds, “Take the time to listen and provide the best care I can.”

In her free time, Dr. Adams says she loves spending time with her husband and dog, and exploring all the cool things Austin has to offer.

Dr. Adams has several health tips that she shares with patients. The first is for those struggling to eat right and lose weight. She says, “Every meal is a new opportunity to get back on the bandwagon; don’t beat yourself up for eating cheeseburger for lunch, try again your next meal.”

Her second tip concerns the mind/body connection. She says, “Many people do not like to discuss their mental health, they think that it is separate from a healthy body. But if you think about it this way, that your mind controls your body, then you realize just how important mental health is.”

To make an appointment with Dr. Adams, go online or call ARC South 1st at 512-443-1311.

Welcome to Austin Regional Clinic, Dr. Adams!
