Partnerships are Key to Health and Wellbeing

Austin Regional Clinic is happy to announce that Andrew H. Weary, MD, Family Medicine, has joined the After Hours Clinic team at ARC Far West.
Raised in Dallas, TX and on a family farm in Garland, Dr. Weary says “I chose Family Medicine for the variety, not only in the medical problems, but also in the patients I get to know. The Urgent Care area of Family Medicine has allowed me the opportunity to meet and treat people of varying backgrounds, generations, and cultures.”
Dr. Weary says that forming and maintaining a partnership with patients is important in helping them understand their illness or injury, and giving them a say in their treatment. “I try to listen and to communicate in a way that is both educational and motivational,” he says, “to optimize the effectiveness of the patients’ all-important roles in their health and wellbeing.”
Breakfast is important
When advising his patients, Dr. Weary says “DO NOT SKIP BREAKFAST! In almost any area of health, you can find studies showing that eating a high-quality breakfast will help foster improved health outcomes.”
Enjoying the outdoors
In his free time, Dr. Weary enjoys horseback riding, hiking in the Big Bend National Park, and xeriscaping around the house. He also likes the Lady Bird Lake portion of the Hike & Bike Trail, where, he says “the passage of the seasons, people-watching, and the variety of action on the water make an enjoyable way to get some exercise while feeling the pulse of the city and the environment!””
Dr. Weary sees patients only in the After Hours Clinic. To make an After Hours appointment, call 512-346-6611. Welcome to Austin Regional Clinic, Dr. Weary!
