ARC Hosts Championship Hearts Foundation Screenings

Championship Hearts Foundation (CHF) will provide free teen heart screenings. Student athletes ages 14 to 18 from all over Central Texas can register to be tested for heart conditions. Each athlete will undergo several tests to identify key factors that can be signs of a heart condition.

This year our three CHF events are being held at the following locations and dates:

CHF estimates that 1 in 250 students are at risk for heart abnormalities that could potentially lead to life-threatening heart issues. Anyone who participates in strenuous activities is encouraged to get their hearts screened for possible deadly genetic heart conditions.

The Championship Hearts Foundation goal is to keep all young Texas Athletes heart healthy by focusing on the prevention of catastrophic heart failures through comprehensive testing. Athletes who attend will receive a blood pressure exam, non-invasive echocardiograms (ECG) and a limited 2-D Echocardiogram (ECHO) endorsed by the Texas Chapter of the American College of Cardiology, and provided by volunteer local cardiologists and ARC clinical support staff. Data collected from the CHF goes towards research into identifying certain risks factors that can lead to heart conditions.
