How to Choose an Urgent Care Clinic

You may be hosting family and friends from out of town this holiday season. If one of your guests – or you – needs medical care during the holidays, you may want to consider a couple of things when choosing an urgent care clinic. Most likely, at the top of your list will be convenience, but high on the list should also be quality of medical care, communication, and cost.

A couple of questions to help you decide are below:

  • Is the medical clinic staffed by doctors and other medical professionals?
  • Are lab and x-ray services available on site?
  • Do the doctors have easy access to medical specialists if needed?
  • Will your regular doctor receive a report about your visit?
  • How much is the co-pay?

At Austin Regional Clinic, you can get a same-day doctor visit from 7:30am - 9pm weekdays, and 8am - 4pm weekends. Select ARC locations are also open during the holidays including Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day. We have ARC doctors in 16 specialties that are available on-site or on-call and you can even request an appointment online.

We're open to the community, to both established patients and non-ARC patients. We accept over 50 health plans and offer discounts for self-pay patients. Established patients also have access to our 24-hour nurse line for those late-night concerns that just can't wait.

When you are sick and need to be seen today, choose the healthcare solution that provides access, quality, and affordability. Just think ARC.

Is there any relief for lower back pain?

Low back pain is a universal human experience. About 9 out of 10 adults will experience back pain at some point in their lives. It may be mild or extreme, merely inconvenient or totally incapacitating. Fortunately, low back pain often gets better on its own. But when it doesn't, the effective application of pain management techniques can reduce or eliminate most back pain. At ARC, we offer a number of services to evaluate and treat low back and any chronic pain. We can help you manage your pain and get back to a more comfortable, active lifestyle. Don't suffer – get help.
