About Ross E. Hairgrove, MD

  • Dr. Hairgrove is a native Texan, born and raised in the west Texas town of Haskell. When he’s not working, Dr. Hairgrove enjoys spending quality time with his wife and friends, including his golden doodle. He also enjoys playing golf, running, camping, and reading. Dr. Hairgrove’s favorite Central Texas spot is “anywhere with my wife watching a beautiful Hill Country sunset!”

I chose a career in medicine to help fulfill two life passions – to serve humanity and study the physiological processes of the body. As a sports medicine physician, my experiences as a competitive and recreational athlete allow me to empathize with patients’ needs and concerns. I am passionate about treating injuries and also educating patients on injury prevention and the importance of healthy lifestyles. I am always mindful that I am treating a human being, and not exclusively an injury or disease process.

I made several attempts to see Dr. Hairgrove and/or my family practitioner Dr. Posey. Each time I called for an appointment, with the same problems, Call Center Asked that I go to the emergency as they felt I was having a heart attack after I said to them that my symptoms were a sensation down my left arm from my center of my shoulder blade all the way down to my fingertips. A tingling sensation similar to hitting your elbow and the sensation of the tingling would remain only I had it 24/7 especially when I would lay down at night I just could not get comfortable so I tried to make an appointment to get checked and each time they would do the same. I assured them that I was not having a heart attack, that I felt more it was something like a pinched nerve, but I didn’t know where exactly it was coming from, but they would not make an appointment for me and I each time I would hang up. this went on for MONTHS so I’m glad I was able to get to see Dr. Hairgrove where he agreed with me that he felt the pinched nerve was at my neck ordering MRI and x-rays, so I feel better that something is being done to help me but I am very disappointed with the Call Center diagnosing me in what they feel is my problem, as they are not doctors and that’s not their job. Their job is to help me get to a licensed doctor that can help me. I feel that needs to be addressed with the call center. Thank you. Dr Hairgrove is an excellent physician and an asset to ARC.

I like the use of scribble pad for deaf patients. Very useful!

Dr. H wanted to know all the details of my injury and let me know my options and suggested the best route to make it better and not just a quick fix for the injury. He was patient and his nurse was extremely patient and helpful running around to get me a brace. I really appreciated all the time she spent helping me. She was also very kind.
