Menopause Education

Menopause is a healthy transition in a woman's life cycle. It is not a disease and does not have to be treated. However, some health problems, such as osteoporosis, are associated with low estrogen. (Osteoporosis is a thinning and weakening of the bones.) To treat menopause symptoms and help prevent osteoporosis, your Ob/Gyn physician may recommend lifestyle changes and possibly also medicine.

While most women know it will eventually occur, questions still arise about the symptoms and available treatments. Your Ob/Gyn physician can teach you about this natural change in your life and help you to cope with the symptoms.

For more information about menopause, please see our online patient eduation resources page about menopause.
