Focus on Allergies

As the weather changes, so too does the allergy season, read below for a few tips on how to be better prepared.

Mountain cedar is unique to central Texas and the season lasts from December to February. Cedar allergies, often referred to as "cedar fever," can be intense and quite debilitating, causing missed days at work or school. To help reduce pollen exposure, avoid the outdoors during peak pollen times (5am-10am) and take a shower before bedtime. Most importantly, if you know you are allergic to cedar, begin taking allergy medications starting in mid to late November.

ARC Southwest Now Open

Austin Regional Clinic’s newest location, ARC Southwest, is now open. ARC Brodie Lane physicians began seeing patients at ARC Southwest on October 26th.

ARC Southwest is the newly renovated medical office on the corner of Slaughter Lane and Manchaca Road. It is located in the former Albertson’s building next to Planet Fitness, and has ample free parking.

In addition to the specialties and services currently available, including Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, onsite lab and radiology, ARC Southwest will also add Daytime Urgent Care and an After Hours Clinic.

ARC Southwest Daytime Urgent Care begins on November 2nd with Dr. Leah Treadwell and the third ARC After Hours Clinic opens on Monday, November 30th. ARC is excited to expand its services to make access to health care easier and more convenient for all of our patients in South Austin, Buda, Kyle, and beyond.
