About Kymberly T. Colman, MD

  • Dr. Colman says she “lives to be outside,” spending most of her free time in the mud/garden or making something. Her most recent “muddy adventure” was participating in the Tough Mudder Central Texas, a 10+ mile mud and obstacle course designed to test physical strength, stamina, and mental grit. Dr. Colman also enjoys backpacking, canoeing, kayaking trips, shamelessly overfeeding her cats and squirrels, and seeing movies with her husband and son.

I chose a career in medicine after volunteering for a few months after college in a jungle medical clinic in El Salvador – it was a life-changing experience. I believe that going to the doctor’s office shouldn’t be a traumatizing experience for children. If kids are engaged in their care because everything is explained in a way that makes sense to them, they are more accepting of all parts of the visit. The best part of my job is helping a young, scared patient evolve into a healthy, happy adult.
