ARC Doctors Listed in USA Today's 'Most Influential Doctors'

Austin Regional Clinic Doctors receive special recognition

USA Today's new Most Infuential Doctors database listing
includes 2 Austin Regional Clinic physicians

May 14, 2009 - ARC Family Medicine physicians Dr. Hillary Miller and Dr. Michelle (Missy) Markley, both at ARC Far West Medical Tower, were listed as two of the “Most Influential Doctors” in USA Today’s new Most Influential Doctors database.

Most Influential Doctors, an analysis by the medical information firm Qforma, lists physicians considered the “thought-leaders” in more than 300 U.S. metro areas. These are the doctors other doctors listen to, send patients to, and can influence care. The list recognizes community medical leaders with expertise in treating specific diseases whom their colleagues look to for advice on treatment guidelines, new therapies and innovative approaches to medical care.

The new database, designed to give the public a resource to use when searching for medical care, lists 6000 physicians in four medical categories: hypertension, high cholesterol, asthma and diabetes. Only three to five doctors in each category are listed for each metropolitan area. In the Austin/Round Rock area, a total of 20 physicians are listed. More doctors in other specialties will be added in the coming months.

Dr. Markley and Dr. Miller were both named in the Diabetes specialty. Dr. Markley, who has been with ARC since 2000, is one of the Family Medicine Chiefs, and Dr. Miller, who joined ARC in 1986, serves as Medical Director for ARC’s Weight Management Program in addition to her Family Medicine practice.

Congratulations to Dr. Markley and Dr. Miller!
